Clever Treasure

Every so often we give our Altered Art queen, Sally, something random to "play with". This time it was a small case which we picked up at TK Max on our travels.

Theme: Pirates.

Result: Well see for yourselves.

Great work Sally. I still keep opening and closing the lid just to watch all of the elements fold themselves back into the case and then pop out again.

Fashion Stamps released today

and beautiful they are to. Designed and drawn by Gayle Bond, these stamps were launched this evening in class. Ideal for both scrapbookers and cardmakers these stamps are just the thing for all occassions.

Here are a few ideas.

From Fashion Set One

From Fashion Set Two

There are loads more ideas to come so watch this space. You can buy your set of these lovely stamps HERE.

The last of the four layouts is "Boules" and although the easiest of the four, it is is very effective in showing off the photo and also allows for a large amount of journalling to the right of the photo.

The flower has been stamped onto one of the papers and cut out.

Watch out for something a bit different tomorrow:)

"Kitty" is the title of the third layout and the name of the newest edition to our extended family. (Isn't she beautiful") The embellishments have all been made from the paper except of course, for the pearls.

The addition of the pearls was an after thought as I had already punched out the holes in the patterned papers only to find that the paper underneath was not bright enough to show through. The large pearls fitted nicely into the holes and look ok I think.

You can see the fourth and final layout from this class tomorrow.

The Long Walk Home

Number two is called "The Long Walk Home" and is the original photo which Karen cropped.

The tag underneath the cricket bat is stamped twice using a very larg stamp showing the waves lapping the beach. The bat has been cut from the paper ensuring the line pattern is in the centre of the bat to give it more depth.

Watch out for number three tomorrow.

One of the wonderful things we always come away with when we go out for the day, are a huge amount of photos. They came in extremely useful in a recent class when we used the beautiful muted papers called Wild Asparagus from My Minds Eye. Betwen us Karen and I made four layouts as exapmles for the class and over the next four days I will showcase them one by one.

Todays is "When You're Out You're In

Karen used a large cropped colour photo and made it black and white and I think it works really well. (You will see the original photo in a later layout.)

The heat continues

and there are so many new classes to prepare for that both of us have been rushed off our feet, hence the lack of Blog postings this week. We still have loads of projects and layouts to show you so (hopefully) I will get some picture on here tomorrow.

In the meantime don't forget, you can keep up to date with all the gossip, on the forum.

See you tomorrow.

And they just keep on coming......

Here are the final lot of projects made from the July Special Edition Kit. We had a really good time making these.

The large birdcage was taken from a font and printed onto acetate.

And finally a lovely card to finish off.

HOpe you've enjoyed this one. Augusts kit is even better.

Beach Fun

We've had a real job this year, trying to find a nice Beach project. We wanted something that could be adapted for a day at the beach to a holiday abroad. Well after searching for weeks, Karen put her foot down and announced she'd make one herself. Here are a few pictures of the finished project but believe me, they don't do this justice. This amazing book (larger than it looks) was designed by Karen for the class which took place on Saturday.

This will be our next on-line class. Don't miss it.
