It begins……………….

So lets start this photo fest with a few pictures of our younger scrappers. For those of you who don't know, we hold a kids class once a month where we make either scrapbook pages (normally A4 size) or perhaps a simplified version of one of our fortnightly mini book classes.
We have all been amazed at how talented these kids are and how fast they pick things up. In the April class we had two birthdays so here are a few candid shots.
bIMG_1419 Who is that strange woman in the background? She gets in all the photos:)
It was a great class, everyone worked really well and the cakes were awesome!!!
Next a few of the photos from Aprils Limited Edition class with some of the works in progress.  Even though we make at least 10 examples using the class kits, everyone looks at the papers and manages at least one original layout. Sometimes the papers really talk to some people and they churn out 5 or 6 layouts in a class.
If you live to far away to do these classes at the shop, we do offer a kit only version with a how to magazine included in the price. This is becoming a popular way to take part for those of you who can’t do Saturday classes.

And my candid shot for today is this one.
bIMG_1473 Can you think of a caption to go with this photo. Leave your suggestions as a comment. Have a great day and Karen hurry up and get better.
Off to bed now as I’m doing another 2 classes today. Night, night.

Noel Christmas Planner

Made by karen for our first All Day Special Edition Class in November. This was a cracking day with three separate projects, this being the middle one made during lunch. Karen made it as a Christmas Planner but you can use the same techniques to make a book for any occassion.

The Planner was bound using the Bind-It-All and the papers used were Basic Grey. Watch out for another All Day Special Edition Class going on sale soon.

Photo Shoot

Some of my favourite photos this year are of people taking photos. I have a great collection and just had to use this one of Karen.

Here is that sticker again. If you remember, Karen used thread to high light it on her layout. This time I have used glitter to add a bit of sparkle. (Well it was nearly christmas when I made this and I love all things glittered at this time of year)

The borders to this page are cut from the bits left after the scalloped edges were peeled from the sticker sheet. I don't like to waste anything. You should see my house:)

Still some more from this kit to come then loads of other projects to share so watch this space:)

A break from layouts

In the afternoon class on this special day, we made 8 layouts and a lovely little stand which would make a great gift for someone who could then stand it on their desk or sideboard. Made entirely from 160gsm card and the kit papers this was easy to make and a fun way to use up the remaining papers.

See you all at the CROP tomorrow. Looking forward to a great day:)

Sometimes the photo says it all......

This is a fantastic photo showing a reaction that would be hard to duplicate. Kerrys birthday was in October and on that morning her boyfriend Gary gave her the best present of all..............a beautiful puppy who she later called Ralph. Karen had the camera ready as Gary walked into the room. All Kerry could say was "Is he for me?" Classic moment caught on camera.

I hate this photo......We have both been trying for many weeks, to take a decent photo of ourselves by holding the camera at arms length and taking a photo blind. Sometimes it works really well and it's a great technique to master especially if you tend to go places on your own and need photos of yourself. You can of course, ask someone to take your picture but I always have visions of someone running off into the sunset with my precious camera. Anyway, this is a photo Karen took recently using the arms length method. My only comfort is that I also have a picture of her, used in a later layout, which I also know she hates. Sisters ehhh!!!!!!!!

Crazy Stitching

Stickers can be used as they are but they can also be enhanced to make them appear more handmade. In this case Karen used stitching to enhance the detail. You will see this sticker used again later in the week, where I have used glitter to enhance it.

Stickers dont do it for me but......

I am not a fan of stickers but I can honestly say I loved the sticker sheet that came with this kit. Everything was so cute and I was just itching to use them. Paper piecing is my passion at the moment, creating a picture as a background for a photo so this worked really well.

Novembers Special Edition Class Revealed

Over the coming week I will be showing all of the projects made in our first all day Special Edition Class. There was so much in the kit and I know that many of you just didnt get time to do everything you wanted so these photos should help. Hope you like them as much as we did making them.

I love this layout of Kerry and the buttons in the middle of the flowers work really well (although I will say that someone forgot to give me any buttons when we were making up the projects:) I wonder who that was?)

Some People Make The World Special

Made as a very simple layout but I couldn't resist putting the big bird on the wire at the top:)
